Marissa Saroca is a singer/musician/actor/creative/ educator with a longer-than-they-look recording, songwriting, coaching, and live performance career.
Last year saw their musical director debut with PASSING STRANGE (Antipodes Theatre Co, Melbourne), for which they were nominated for a Green Room award. This year, the are appearing in NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 (Darlinghurst Theatre Company) as ‘Helene’/Assistant MD, as well as understudying the role of ‘Marya’.
Acting highlights: ‘Lizzie’ in LIZZIE (Hayes Theatre Company) ‘The Arbiter’ in CHESS (Civic Theatre, Newcastle), ‘Ensemble/Seasons of Love soloist/Maureen cover’ in RENT (Sydney Opera House), ’Ensemble’ in GHOST and SHREK (ATEG, Manila).
Marissa has released two original albums ‘Cheaper Than Therapy’ and ‘Boys Write Love Songs Too’ as well as the single ‘Like You Used To’. They were also part of Team Lea (Salonga) on the first season of The Voice: Philippines.
Marissa teaches at the Conservatorium of Music, Newcastle, and at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA). They are a member of Musicians Australia and Equity (MEAA) and is an Associate Facilitator for Stage A Change.
