PAUL ESCORRIDO

(He/They)

Paul Leandre Escorrido is a proud queer, Filipino performer based in Sydney on Gadigal land. Originally born in the province of Cavite, Paul has lived in the Philippines, Singapore and England before finally migrating to Australia in 2007. Growing up, much like every Filipino kid, Paul was raised on karaoke, Chicken Adobo and melodramatic telenovelas which explains much of his penchant for performance.

In 2024, Paul completed a Diploma of Musical Theatre at NIDA. Whilst studying he was also involved in the third year BFA production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee where he worked with Darren Yap, Kelley Abbey and Andrew Bevis.

Upon graduating, Paul went straight into an onstage swing role in the premiere of the new Australian disco musical ‘CONVERTED!’ (by Vic Zerbst and Oliver John Cameron) at Sydney Festival 2025. But no stranger to the stage, you may have also previously seen him at Sydney Fringe Festival 2023 in A Jolly Good Musical.

Paul is passionate about authentic, embodied storytelling and hopes he can become a role model for young, queer, and Asian kids trying to find their way.
