Sydney began his training in rural Victoria at Lisa Pellin Dancers. He moved to Melbourne to complete his high school studies at The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, where he was fortunate enough to work with Australian creatives Tanya Mitford and Tim Harbour.
In 2020, Sydney graduated with a Diploma in Musical Theatre from Patrick School of the Arts (PSA) under the direction of Andrew Hallsworth. In his time at PSA, he was fortunate enough to perform in both Heathers the Musical and Guys and Dolls, where he performed the role of Nicely Nicely Johnson.
In 2022, Sydney made his professional musical theatre debut in the Australian tour of An American in Paris for GWB.
