Zara Psirakis (she/her) is a proud Greek/Australian performer from Sydney who is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) at The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in Melbourne. In her final year at VCA, Zara will perform as Pilar/Dance Captain in ‘Legally Blonde’ (dir. Jason Langley), and Female Doctor/Εnsemble in ‘A Little Touch of Chaos’ (dir. Roger Hogdman), where she will be featured on the Original Cast Recording. Other VCA credits include Mrs Widner/DaMico Dancer in ‘Titanic the Musical’ (dir. Tyran Parke), ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’ (dir. Alister Smith), Featured Soloist in Arts Centre Melbourne’s ‘Morning Melodies’ at Hamer Hall (dir. Jayde Kirchert), and Featured Soloist at the Australian Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF). Prior to beginning her tertiary studies,
Zara trained at Village Nation as an elite performer, mentored by Jacqui Howard and Briden Starr, graduating from the course in 2023. She also completed a Diploma in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London in 2022.
Some of Zara’s film and television credits include Stan’s ‘Ten Pound Poms’, ‘Deadly Women’, and Russell Crowe’s ‘The Water Diviner’. Further TVC credits include Kellogg’s Coco Pops, Finish AU, Kmart, Disney. Other achievements include earning Encore and OnStage nominations for her Music and Drama performances, and conducting 400 students at Kambala’s Annual Music Festival on The Sydney Opera House stage where she was awarded best conductor.
